Starting to think GDAX is engineered to induce market orders

I've lost count of the number times I've placed what I thought was a limit order only to see it was actually market. It just doesn't make sense. I'm starting to think its resetting to marke' when you cancel an order or something. Wondering if anyone else has this problem or if I'm just that careless. I plan on recording a session later on to see if I can catch it in action.
