Creating My Own DAO?

Hello, I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to ask such question. Anyways, I'm working on a project to create my own DAO (decentralized autonomous organization). I have no deep technical knowledge on the subject of blockchain. I only understand the basic concept and some of the possible applications of it in the real world. Outside of blockchain, my technical knowledge only consists of some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Recently, I've been reading about Aragon — a DAO built on Ethereum that basically lets you create your own DAOs. Their aim is to make it as user-friendly as possible to run your own DAO, without having too much technical knowledge about blockchain. I've read their white paper to get an understanding of how their project works. Currently, they've only released an Alpha version. I'm looking for more projects similar to this, where everything including the smart contracts are already coded for you, and all you have to do is configure your

AlphaBay Shut Down by Law Enforcement, Admin Commits Suicide in Jail

AlphaBay, the most popular marketplace on the dark web, shut down on July 4. At first, many of the users suspected an exit scam however, it has since become clear that law enforcement has taken down the underground market. According to the Wall Street Journal, an international police action took place in the United States, Thailand and Canada. On July 5, law enforcement in Thailand arrested Alexandre Cazes, 26, a Canadian citizen who is believed to be one of the operators of AlphaBay. Beware: ETH Declines WILL Continue

Having just completed an aggregate of $360k in Tezos, TenX, and Aeternity ICO's, and because I work for an asset management fund that handles alternative assets, I have spoken to several of the foundation board members and founders for 6 to 7 ICO's who will be offloading their raised funds, so there is going to be a huge flood of ETH coming back into the market in the near future. By a huge flood, I mean roughly ~$175M is likely to be sold back onto the market over the next 5 months or so. I know roughly this amount for certain because that's what we have agreed to purchase otc and exchange for several recently completed crowdraises. Not sure to what extent other brokerages and asset funds will be helping convert these recent crowdraises. ICO's are not slowing down, and the demand for ETH will likely continue in relation to the need for participation in future token sales. However, let me whole heartedly warn you $190 isn't the bottom, we will likely see closer t

WARNING: I suspect Yunbi is holding my Antshares purposely in limbo to farm Antcoins

I have a large ANS withdrawal from Yunbi pending for over 9 days now. Delayed withdrawals of days are the norm on Yunbi, but there seems to be something exceptionally difficult about ANS withdrawals. I've spoken to quite a few people in a similar situation. So what is it about ANS that makes it so difficult to withdraw form Yunbi, something that other coins don't suffer from? I suspect they're simply holding your ANS in limbo on purpose and farming the Antcoins.generated while they hold it. Irrevocable, absolute massacre of ETH is about to commence due to these fundamental, logical and objective reasons

1) Tezos ICO scam is about to dump 70$ million of ETH to crash price and outcompete. Tezos is direct competitor of ETH, so they will gain a lot by destroying ETH. 2) Other ICO scams are cashing out as well. ETH baghlders sell ETH for ICO scams and ICO scams sell ETH for fiat aka real money. 3) Cryptocurrency is in an obvious bubble. 4) Apple is coming out with their own peer-to-peer payment system soon, which will outcompete and kill cryptos, rendering them useless. 5) Smart contracts are a meme and don't even work (aka DAO "dumb contract"). 6) Ethereum can't scale (critical). 7) Bitcoin can do everything Ethereum can do. 8) Ethereum was $9 only 6 months ago, so obvious overvaluation here. Intrinsic value of ETH should be closer to $15, providing growth nicely to $30 in the following 5-10 years. 9) There are no actual useful products except gambling, drugs and illegal stuff for crypto. 10) Normies are already aware of crypto due to media recognition, it is m

Kind Sirs, Cheapest quickest way to convert BTC to fiat?

Hi. So when trading altcoins, what would be the quickest cheapest way to transfer my altcoins to fiat. Im assuming I need to change it to BTC and then change it to GBP? Would I be best off sending the BTC to another wallet such as coinbase and then transferring direct to my bank account? The fee's seem extortionate and withdrawal times long. submitted by /u/gotmeonmyknees12 [link] [comments] Read More

Star Wars Coin - thoughts? Can a fan coin cash in on size of its following, or too gimmicky to take off?

Wondering if any other cryptocurrency has tried something like this before? It's clear they're going to have some issues regarding copyright, but from their website (starwars.network) it seems like this is kind of the point - decentralizing culture etc. My questions are: Is a cryptocurrency based on a fan community the size of Star Wars likely to take off, or is it too gimmicky? Can copyright infringment actually hurt a coin's value? I mean it's obvious they'll come after the creators but right now I'm struggling to see why this would be a problem for the coin's value and I'm almost thinking it might draw more attention and be good for the coin. I'm thinking about taking a punt in the presale just on hunch the fans are going to make this soar, but am very interested in diverging opinions. submitted by /u/toliros [link] [comments] Read More

Privacy Project TumbleBit Inches Closer to Release With Tor Integration and New Wallet

TumbleBit is one of the most promising privacy-enhancing technologies being built on top of Bitcoin right now. It allows users to mix their coins fully anonymously, without requiring trust in any third party. An advanced version of the technology, which requires Segregated Witness, can even be utilized as a second-layer payment hub to reduce transaction costs and speed up confirmation times. After TumbleBit was first proposed in an academic paper and subsequently presented at the Scaling Bitco

Op Ed Drivechains Could Kill Off the Altcoin Market

Sidechains have been viewed as Bitcoins way of dealing the altcoin market since 2014, when a proposal for a two-way peg between two different blockchains was first proposed in a public setting. Three years later, it appears that drivechains, which are a specific way of implementing sidechains, will be the way in which extensions for Bitcoin are rolled out.Sidechains remove the need for altcoins by allowing bitcoins to be effectively transferred from one blockchain to another. This means the b

Dubious Bitcoin Scheme Uses Ethereum ICO to Keep the Game Going

There has been an interesting turn of events in the case of the alleged India-based Ponzi scheme known as GainBitcoin. Recently, after a Change.org petition from an outraged GainBitcoin investor surfaced, the group behind the scheme launched an Ethereum ICO initial coin offering in an effort to keep the probable scam going. For those who havent heard of GainBitcoin, it purports to be a Bitcoin cloud-mining operation the operation, in turn, is connected to Amit Bhardwaj, founder of Bitcoin mini

Got a Coinbase Account and an Opinion on Bitcoin Scaling Be Heard on KYCPoll

Bitcoins ongoing scaling debate is reaching fever pitch. Several scaling proposals are scheduled to activate within the next weeks, which may or may not be adopted. This could even lead to segments of users and minerssplitting off from the current Bitcoin protocol, resulting in different types of Bitcoin. One reason the several sides in this dispute have trouble agreeing on a single path forward is that all claim support from users on their preferred scaling solution. And this difference, in t

Op Ed The Value of Sidechains and Leveraging Their Potential

Since Bitcoins launch in 2009, there has been a growing interest in tapping the potential of decentralized cryptocurrencies. However, any modifications to the consensus layer, the critical part of any cryptocurrency, must be handled with caution. Compared to other internet protocols, this makes it harder for Bitcoin to adopt new features and meet new demands. This is why sidechain technology has been proposed It allows for the transfer of digital assets, including bitcoin, across different bl

Latest Cryptocurrency Exchange Hack Highlights Need for Better Security Protocols

Hacking and theft have almost grown up side by side with things like Bitcoin, and, as the popularity and value of the digital currency rises, its attraction to thieves also grows. The most recent major hack has seen one of the top five biggest Bitcoin and Ethereum exchanges, Bithumb in South Korea, fall prey to hackers. The hack was confirmed July 5 when information, as well as hundreds of millions of Sou
