Question about arbitrage

I was looking at arbitrage opportunities among exchanges and was thinking that this was already a crowded field - the tracking of prices among exchanges was close enough (within 0.5%) that the fees would eat the profit. Except for today. Right now Gemini BTC is at 6830 and GDAX is at 6937. Gemini ETH is at 286, GDAX is at 296. And this is not a fluke. Has been going on for hours. 1.4% diff on BTC. 3.3% on ETH. That's huge. Why aren't arbitraging bots damping this down (making huge $ in the process)? submitted by /u/MedvedTrader [link] [comments] Read More

Can you set auto buy/sell on a exchange for particular price points?

Ex: I want to auto buy BTC at $6,000 and auto sell if it drops to $5,500. Than auto buy back when it starts raising again at $5,600+? submitted by /u/IveRedditAllNight [link] [comments] Read More

Can someone simpligy Kraken buy/sells for me

O.K. Not to be childest - I am on one of my insanely intense rage fests though tonight ... That being said :o) Kraken seriously has to be the MOST confusing exchange I have ever used in my life. Eve the miserable EthereDelta is IMMENSELY easier to use. As in EtherDelta is a 10 compared to Kraken's 2-3 if I'm being nice. I cant even explain what's confusig me. It's THAT Cofusing. I succesffuly bought BC on margin earlier. Apparently at some point of time I ended up with cash to. Converting that to BC alone was a pain. They have nothing on the order page stating your balance let alone being able to click it and auto fill the order forms. You have to open up anoher page and grab your balance. I'm also not sure exactly how they calculate the trading fees. It says out of XBT or USDT ... But it doesn't make it clear at all how much it is charging. Anyways figuring that out was he simple part. So I went long about 6-7 hoours ago. I have wanted to close and re open

Which strategy to choose for the upcoming fork/s?

So there are basically two or maybe three investment strategies I can think of for the upcoming fork: BTC all the way to get the most BTC2x and BTCNo2x because free money, amiright? Altcoins all the way to get them while they are cheap and move eventually back to BTC as soon as it's clear which coin gets to be the one and only BTC. BCH all the way because you think it will be the real BTC in the end.. What do you think is the best strategy? Did I miss anything? I'm currently split between 1. and 2. and actually I guess I will just stay split with having roughly 50% still invested in Alts. submitted by /u/mr-turquoise [link] [comments] Read More

PlayKey ICO Analysis

PlayKey: https://playkey.io/ is now live. As a concept, this serves as a good alternative for Ethereum mining rigs following the upcoming Casper fork. Also, some large gpu farms were pre-sale investors (according to people I spoke to at BEF in NYC yesterday close to the project). They have a large team, VC backing and are Russian based which I like. On the other hand, there is no indication that they will succeed where Nvidia and others failed. The product must work. I've heard from network engineers that geographical latency is important so the network decentralized might provide an edge in a way Nvidia could not or sees too much opportunity cost investing in. Bottom line, looks like they will have good exchange liquidity (couple major exchange listings are in the works I've heard) and have a good service and tech record in a growth industry. An ICO makes sense for them, but plenty of challenges abound. Wouldn't be surprised to see this thing take off on an OMG level or

[Tools] Real-time Bittrex coin tracking

My main exchange is Bittrex but their charts are always about 5 minutes behind. That really annoyed /u/cryptotracky so he decided to build his own charts and overview. With his permission I gladly share it with everyone here. At the current state of the website you can see all coins and their changes in price and volume, besides that you can configure to see the top performers for a specific time interval. When you click the in the real-time column a graph will be shown with the current bid/ask price, this allows to see the chart with great detail without any of the bittrex delay. /u/cryptotracky created this tool for himself first but decided to share it with the world, the website itself is an opensource project http://ift.tt/2A92548 to allow everyone to contribute and improve it! Almost everyday small updates are made, and once in a while he provides new charts to help visualize the market and hopes to help others make a profit. When you have used it or got any feedback feel

Can I reuse the same Coinbase/GDAX deposit address over and over again?

There's something I really don't like about Coinbase/GDAX: everytime I ask for my BTC deposit address, it's giving me a new one. I hate it because I typically whitelist my exchange BTC addresses, write them down, test first that they work using a small amount and then send bigger amounts (while verifying on my hardware wallet that the address showing up is the one I wrote down and confirmed as "working"). So my question is simple: can I keep using for, say, months and months, a Coinbase/GDAX deposit address that did work for me? I take it the answer is "yes" but I'd rather 100% be sure: seen the amounts involved I'd rather only use addresses which I whitelisted and which I trust. Maybe /u/Coinbase-Olga or /u/Coinbaseproblem100 can answer for me or anyone else from the Coinbase community (Coinbase community links / site seems to be broken btw) submitted by /u/ceinguy [link] [comments] Read More

Why the $100 USD premium on the BTC/EUR pair on GDAX?

Any reason why there's such a difference? Anywhere from $100 to $150 per BTC. Is it typically that much of a difference of is BTC/EUR on GDAX usually closer than BTC/USD on GDAX? Say now BTC is at 6600 USD on GDAX, 5773 EUR on GDAX while one EUR is 1.16158 USD, which gives 6705 USD. While on, say, Bitstamp, the BTC/EUR pair is at nearly the exact GDAX USD price. submitted by /u/ceinguy [link] [comments] Read More

Bitcoin Madness: How to Simulate Bitcoin Prices in Google Sheets

Original Medium post can be found here: http://ift.tt/2z3hwNz You know the scenario... Bitcoin had another huge increase , but you missed the opportunity. You wanted to get in, but your gut instinct told you no. And rightfully so...no one knows where the price is going to go. What if you invested, and it had another 20% loss? These sort of price movements are common in the volatile world of cryptocurrencies. Seriously...how far can this Bitcoin price really go? BITCOIN IS A VOLATILE BEAST Risk analysis must be a part of every decision you make. You are constantly faced with uncertainty, ambiguity, and variability. Variability, in the case of Bitcoin, unlike anything we have ever seen before. And even though we have unprecedented access to information, we can’t accurately predict the future. Luckily, we have methods that enable you to see all the possible outcomes of your decisions, and assess the impact of risk. WHERE TO START? Running simulations can prepare us for the worst

Bitcoin Cash breaking 500$ mark

BCH has been showing a lot of strength recently, while the segwit community is split in two. With more people moving their BTC to BCH for safety when the fork happens the 700$ mark seems reasonable. It should also be noted that the mining reward issues (EDA) have been fixed and will be activated on the 13'th november, just in time for the BTC fork. submitted by /u/SchnitzelBoss [link] [comments] Read More

Automatically selling at a target dollar price.

I would like to set up a tool, bot or whatever to support the following scenario/actions: I buy coin A at 0.8$ (and whatever that is at the time in satoshi) If coin A hits 1.2$ I want to automatically sell that for BTC and convert the BTC to Tether (USTD) (the automatic conversion to Tether is not a must, but would be neat). I don't want to work with conditionals on bittrex because they are related to bitcoin prices and if bitcoin surges (such as now) conditionals set in the past might be way to high (or correct me if I got that wrong...). I am using a set of exchanges such as bittrex, binance, hitbtc and so on, so ideally the solution should support a multitude of plattforms. I am looking forward to your suggestions and support and I also wouldn't mind using a paid service since I am not that literate in writing scripts and the like. submitted by /u/i562564 [link] [comments] Read More
