As a "poor" university student its really weird to see transaction worth like thousands of $, why your portfolio is worth like 60$ XD

Calculating REAL portfolio value.

I've been using the portfolio value estimates by the 3 exchanges I've been using, feeling very good about my 1 month success. However, I notice that the real situation is a bit different. I have a small amount of BTC locked up in an experimental trade that has recently lost nearly all Volume. What techniques do you use to calculate your REAL portfolio value? Or is looking at exchange estimates worth it unless you need to withdrawal at an extremely quick rate? submitted by /u/oopoctothorpe [link] [comments] Read More

Using bittrex with a vpn

I have use a vpn service and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using a vpn while trading on bittrex and if it creates any problems with deposits or withdrawals getting delayed. I can't find any information on it. I know that with poloniex it can cause withdrawals to lag but I don't know about bittrex. I haven't been using it lately because I don't want my funds to be held. submitted by /u/pceluvempathy [link] [comments] Read More

Recognizing big pumps and dips vs gradual trending, tips?

Hey all, been day trading a bit - I've noticed there are big swings, medium swings, and dithering noise that varies between general slumps, general rises, and stagnation. Wondering if anyone has any tips for recognizing the general trends with the dithering, I've gotten pretty good at reading sudden demand, buy/sell walls etc - but I'm not sure what'll give me a better grip on feeling when things are going to continue a downward trend vs the others. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/RoguePlanetArt [link] [comments] Read More

Bitcoin Price Analysis Best Month Finishes With Potential for Bigger Highs and Lows

Bitcoin just had its best month since November 2013.Price found a top last week at nearly $2,800, which was a 200 percent rally from the ETF rejection low posted in March 2017. That trend remains immensely bullish with trading volume hitting record levels across the world, especially in Asian countries. South Korean exchanges continue to hold large premiums over the rest of the world. Even LocalBitcoins, a worldwide OTC exchange for bitcoin, broke an all-time high ATH in volume this past week

Another noob question re trading

Looking to start trading some of the smaller alts to get a feel of it. At some point I'd like to take money out of my underperforming stocks, but for now I have limited cash available. What coins would you recommend for someone like me? Not long term investment coins, ones that will help me to understand pump and dumps, whale behavior, candle reading, fib lines etc. Also if you care to share which apps/sites you like to use for notifications on price changes. I've done a fair bit of reading and youtubing, but I think it's time to dive in and get my hands dirty, with just a wee bit of money so I don't lose my shit if it all goes tits up. submitted by /u/mdeleo1 [link] [comments] Read More

POLONIEX.COM - Delays, delays and more delays. Please Poloniex, treat this with more urgency, your customers are hurting...

Firstly, this is not an attack on Poloniex. They are a solid company who have a proven record of taking care of their customers even when the unexpected happens. However, recent issues arent being treated with the urgency that they should and we customers are suffering, as I will detail below... Poloniex have had a massive increase in users in the past few months, as I'm sure all traders who use them here are aware. With that has come some growing pains for Poloniex, but unfortunately most of that pain has been felt by their customers. Some of them are quite concerning: Missing balances and other issues, slow resolution. Tickets regarding missing coins, trapped funds, inability to process withdrawals etc are taking anywhere over 10 days to resolve. Poloniex still claim on their homepage: "All support tickets resolved promptly and with care" Meanwhile in the 'trollbox' chat you see many users complaining of 10, 20 day delays. 3 weeks is not exactly "pr

DCORP - What makes it an attractive ICO?

Activity: 42 View Profile WWW Email Personal Message (Online) Trust: 0: -0 / +0 DCORP - What makes it an attractive ICO? Today at 01:42:18 PM Reply with quote Edit message Delete message #1 DCORP is aiming through its Seed Project to create the first blockchain based derivatives exchange. They tout it as a simple, low-cost an autonomous operation. Their platform will allow maximum leverage in an anonymous world and multi-token derivatives to spread and lower risk. As I mentioned, this is the companies “Seed Project”, the first undertaking of the newly funded company. While this is interesting, it is not what makes DCORP interesting and different than many other projects. What I find interesting is the structure of the company and how it will operate moving forward. You can read my complete post here: http://ift.tt/2qEGrUb Links to DCORP site, whitepaper and more included. I am interested in what you find more interesting, the Derivative Market or the Democratic Venture Capital as

Portfolio Diversity Suggestions for Long Term

Hey everyone, I've decided that instead of wasting money on bullshit overspending every month I'm going to take about $125/wk out of my paychecks and put that into some CryptoCurrencies. I also plan on throwing in $500 to get my portfolio started. I'm not looking to do any day trading or anything like that, so I'm looking for some good portfolio options with a 6+ month time frame (I understand calling 6 months long term is laughable but seems like an eternity in cryptos from what I've seen! And 6 months is a timeline I'm comfortable with this experimental method of saving money, lol) A few coins that I've seen that I like so far outside of BTC/ETH/LTC are STEEM, XEM, and GOLEM. I also like the concept of SIA but I'm not sure if I see long term growth on it because I'm not sure about the mass appeal of the service, or the profitability for hosts. Looking for some opinions on if I should just stick to ETH/BTC/LTC or have my investment within 10 or
