BIG NEWS FOR CHAINLINK

Hi guys! I am new to this crypto world after making an investment in Chainlink due to a friend who works with SWIFT. I got an email from this friend. I do not know them all that well as we met at functions with our children's day Care. My Daughter and hers get on so well that one day she talked me into investing in the Chainlink public sale. She works with a company called SWIFT. So i thought I would have a gamble. Today I got a very cryptic email and was wondering if the community here might know what to be expecting? I am not close enough to phone her up and find out what she meant. She wrote me an email telling me to try and up my position with Chainlink as soon as I get home because there is big news about to be released. Does anyone know what this big news might be? Is there anything that us Chainlink contributors should be expecting to happen or is there any news anyone else has heard? I have spent the past hour looking through Reddit but can not find anything and am startin

On day trading

I’m starting out and I want to day trade crypto currency, ethereum to be specific. What I see myself doing (Using my main ethereum investment) is selling at say $305 for btc, buying back in at say $303 and once it gets back to $305 I’ll be selling the profits back to USD into my bank account. Seems easy, I know trading is not easy, what am I missing here and any tips/advice, awesome links to helpful material are appreciated Thanks for your feedback and attention. submitted by /u/therumhammer [link] [comments] Read More

Verify my knowledge of wallets, please!

So from my understanding, there are very few wallets that handle many types of crypto, Exodus, and Jaxx being the 2 largest. They are considered cold storage wallets cause the program is not always running? however, if I put them on a virtual machine that is never on it would a stronger cold storage. However, hardware wallets are the best, like Ledger Nano. When it comes to Ether and Ethtoken such as Golem or OMG, myetherwallet is considered the best? My understanding of that is simply you control and have to secure everything about it. Your passwords your Json everything and don't fall for phishing sites. However, another way to help secure this is again virtual machine, that is only on when you need it on. So that being said and is correct, excluding hardware wallets, if I set up a virtual machine properly and only run it for MEW for EthTokens and do not fall for phishing sites, everything should be fairly secure. Is this also how Jaxx and Exodus work as well? or is there som

Can I set a limit order to sell when a currency reaches a certain value?

Example scenario: I bought a currency at 0.01 BTC value. Set limit order to automatically sell at 0.09 BTC value per unit. Currency fluctuates but eventually reaches 0.09 BTC value. system automatically fulfills my order. Can I do that? On bitstamp I can do this via a limit order, I'm not sure how to do this on poloniex. Tips appreciated. Thanks! submitted by /u/QuazyWabbit1 [link] [comments] Read More

Are CryptoMarkets in a race against government intervention?

If you look at the crypto market today, most market movement is a series of giant pump and dumps. The greatest example being the BCH-BTC PnD last weekend. How can billions of dollars move into and out of an asset in a matter of hours? It looks like nobody is actually buying to HODL anymore except perhaps the noobies buying bitcoin. I have been wondering if this actually makes sense. It really seems like it’s only a matter of time before the SEC and ESMA force exchanges to follow stringent regulations. After that, the average person probably won’t be able to legally invest in crypto. If this is expected to happen within the next year then there is absolutely no reason to buy and HODL. I found some great projects to HODL on but is it irrational and actually riskier to HODL? Does it actually make more sense to make your money and get out ASAP? submitted by /u/FisforFelaKuti [link] [comments] Read More

#209 Amrit Kumar & Xinshu Dong: Zilliqa - A Scalable Sharded Public Blockchain

Scaling public blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum is a long standing technical challenge. In this episode, we cover Zilliqa which has pioneered a design to scale public blockchain throughput with the number of nodes by sharding the blockchain. Sharding has been hitherto proposed as a scaling technique by Ethereum. Zilliqa is one of the first projects to propose a concrete design with an operational testnet processing a couple thousand transactions per second across several shards. Our guests, Xinshu Dong (CEO) and Amrit Kumar (Crypto Lead), walk us through the objectives, protocol design and fundraising structure of this innovative project. We also briefly cover Zilliqa's novel approach to designing a smart contract language and execution environment. Topics discussed in this episode: Sharding as a scaling technique Different kinds of sharding, including state sharding and non-state sharding How Zilliqa works under the hood - consensus algorithms & transaction proce

How to Perform Correlation Analysis on Cryptocurrencies in Google Sheets

TL;DR: I created a cryptocurrency correlation tool in Google Sheets. You can download it at the bottom. Are you a visual learner? Does your brain turn to mush when you see gigantic data tables, or huge blocks of text? I am a visual learner, and this is one of the reasons why I love correlation matrices. We can take a simple concept and display it in an easy to digest, visually stimulating graphic. Cryptocurrency Correlation Tool Spreadsheet WHAT IS CRYPTOCURRENCY CORRELATION? Have you ever noticed that when the price of Bitcoin goes up or down, that a large majority of the market seems to follow? Or, when the price of one cryptocurrency rises, another falls almost in lockstep? This is highly apparent in the cryptocurrency world, as many of the currencies on the market are completely coupled with the movement of Bitcoin. Certain coins will move incredibly close to Bitcoin, or act as a hedge against falling prices. In the financial world, correlation is a statistical measure o

Bitcoin Futures could push Bitcoin over $10,000 begin December

Terry Duffy, CME Group chairman and CEO, could launch the bitcoin futures contracts as early as the second week of December. Being the world’s largest futures exchange, this is a big deal. As reported 2 weeks ago, this could mean a substantial increase in liquidity for the cryptocurrency markets. A regulated bitcoin could also the increase the chance of a bitcoin ETF. http://ift.tt/2zVLeos submitted by /u/xByteme [link] [comments] Read More

I have a few grand. What variations of things should I buy from the three main?

I'm pretty much, definitely going to get into the crypto game. I've done a lot of research on Ethereum and it seems pretty promising. I'd like to very much throw a few grand at Ethereum, BTC, and litecoin...in the following fractions in my lump sum, and then maybe dollar cost average in the same fractional shares and/or day trade for fun. This is not my retirement money, and i'm willing to lose this as a learning situation. Does the ratio seem optimal? Any other suggestions? I'm on coinbase/gdax, so that's likely all i'll trade. 80/10/10 submitted by /u/Anticrombie233 [link] [comments] Read More

iExec Brings the Decentralized Cloud one step Closer With First SDK

There are quite a few different projects focusing on cloud computing. Adding an element of decentralization to this business model is not easy. iExec, one of the companies active in this space, released its first SDK this week. Blockchain apps can now access a scalable and affordable off-chain computing cloud. An interesting development that will certainly open up a lot of new opportunities. Most people know the iExec project by now. This blockchain-based decentralized cloud computing platform is of great importance. While it may not be the perfect solution, a lot of progress is being made as we speak. The first SDK will certainly shift things into a higher gear over the next few months. That is only part of the big news, though. It is important to give app developers access to this scalable and affordable off-chain computing cloud. Very unprofessional customer treatment after hack by Bittrex

This is my story how I got hacked on Bittrex. I'm using bot to trade on Bittrex and API keys. Also, I use app on my android to track trades made by bot. Date: 5 Oct 2017 I got many strange notifications on my android in very short time about trades on my accounts. I was suspecting that something strange is happening because that wasn't normal behavior of my bot, it's trading just few trades daily, but after quick inspect of trades I realized that all of them were made at loss, it never ever happened before, also it's impossible by bot to make trades at loss. Also, I never traded that pair before. I realized that I'm hacked. And it wasn't stolen password, it was trough API keys. Attacker stole my API key(s) and chosen pair that had very low trading volume then bought that coin from my account at high value then sold at loss, repeating process multiple times. Because it was very low volume, attacker was on other side, taking my orders, basically he was using my
