Where is the best place to store your cryptos?

I have a trezor and am using it to store my BTC & ETH. What is the best way to store other cryptos (primarily the top 10) so they are not just sitting on exchanges? Is there a wallet that stores multiple currencies? submitted by /u/fourtwentylol [link] [comments] Read More

Crypto Markets questions

Hi everyone, I'm new to the crypto scene and after reading i have a few questions about buying and selling: -Would i need to buy an underlying crypto current first like ETC? -What would the process be? ex: buy ETC or BTC -> then purchase Alt coin using ETC or BTC? -I'm from Canada, therefore, whats the easiest way to trade ETH, BTC and alt coins? Poloniex? Kraken? purchase ETH on coinbase then transfer to poloniex? -TO participate in an ICO, would i need to have the underlying current they are asking for? and if so, where would they send the tokens from the ICO? -And lastly about wallets; would i have to hold an alt coin in a separate wallet other than exchange? and if so, does each coin have it's dedicated wallet? Thanks! submitted by /u/marco871 [link] [comments] Read More

Active trading vs. medium/swing (~1m) trading... have I cheated myself out of profits?

I've made a fairly nice return on Poloniex. I trade very conservatively (for the scale of Crypto that is) usually happy with pocketing a 5% return on a coin. However, taking a look at most coins, had I simply bought and held for 1 month instead of the intra day/across 2-3 day trades I'd been doing, it looks like I'd have made a lot more money. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/oarabbus [link] [comments] Read More

Hearing some good things about BYC. Do you think it's a good coin?

I've been hearing some good things about BYC lately, and the price seemed to be going in the right direction for the past week until it dropped off a little. I'm hoping that it will trend upward again, but these things are so hard to predict. I've seen that the developer has announced a new wallet is to be released soon, which sounds promising. Do you think this is an indication that the price will increase? If so, it seem like now would be the time to buy, while the price is lower. Are there some things you like about their tech that are unique or innovative enough to make this a worthy investment? submitted by /u/Pmoejoe [link] [comments] Read More

Some Noob-ish questions

So, I've been doing my reading here, watching videos and trying to understand this world before I begin jumping in. Some questions that remain a little unclear to me, so I hope you can help Is there only one blockchain? Or is blockchain a concept? From my understanding there can be public and private blockchains e.g. UK Govt could have it's own medical blockchain, and Nationwide bank could set up it's own for banking. Wallets - Can a hardware 'cold' wallet contain currency from more than one source, or would it only keep, say, 100k example-coins? A nano ledger wallet cannot keep some coins (e.g. sia?) as it's not set up for it? I should not keep currency in exchanges - kraken, bitstamp Without a wallet, I cannot use services to change bitcoin into X How do I find/get a destination tag? Are they important? submitted by /u/tom_g_82 [link] [comments] Read More

Day 5 - Sharing all my trades

Daily Realized Gain/Loss: +5.04% BTC / +5.85% USD Performance since inception (4/6/17): +67.65% BTC / +178.55% USD Current BTC equivalent balance: 6.713124 Strategy Profitability: Wins Rate = 49.35% / Loss Rate = 50.65% Average Win = +37.55% / Avg Loss = -20.92 % Today's Purchases: Expanse, VeriCoin, Bitcrystals, Riecoin, Viacoin, HunterCoin, Steem Dollars, Counterparty Today's Sells: BitShares, Einsteinium Summary: Trading strategies work in some markets and not others. At times in the past I’ve had multiple strategies running at once that worked in different market conditions. It was like I was hedging one strategy with another. Since the cryptocurrency market has been frothy longer than this strategy has been active, I’m not sure how it will perform when the market become more bearish. It’s not a long/short strategy so I predict (hope) my screener won’t return results once we’re in a market downturn. Only time will tell. See my trades and live performance here
