Best way to enter the market?

I want to enter the market and to own some crypto. Would it be better for my profit (long term) to buy many different coins (i.e. 20 different cryptos) or to focus on bitcoin only, or would the best thing be investing in the top cryptos only (bitcoin cash, bitcoin, eth, dash...)
