Uncertainty Lingers In China as ICO Exchanges Begin Customer Refunds

ICO platforms in China are reportedly now issuing refunds to select customers following warnings by the nation's regulators on Monday.

I think the Cryptomarket is slowly being recognized as a legitimate market by the governments themselves that's why they are banning or being more strict on ICOs as a whole. It would be bad for a big market to have penny stock scams as it would drive out future investors.

That's how I see the current situation right now with the movements of China and South Korea on ICOs. They know this will flourish in the future so they're at least weeding out the bad as early as it is to attract more investors in the future. Once crypto reaches $500bn market cap as a whole, it'll be then recognized by even wallstreet investors that this is a healthy market. Just stay strong and HODL, maybe day trade your coin if you're feeling lucky submitted by /u/InteriorAllelegator [link] [comments] Read More

All this red should look sexy to you!

As someone who's held through the July 2017 bear run. I've been hoping for this opportunity ever since. Now is your time to A) snag a permanent position in a coin of your choice or B) short a coin that will rebound to an ATH once we enter a bull market again. Even though it might be too late now, I highly advise against "hodling" during the next bear. In July, I held Sia and Iota and tanked huge losses only to recuperate back to where I began in the first week of August after trading Sia for Omise right before it pumped. If only I had sold at the end of June when things were starting to fall from an ATH and rebought at the depth of the July bear, I would be at a massive profit right now. Honestly if I still held my Sia since I bought at ¢1.4 until this day, I'd still be negative. TLDR: Holding isn't always the best route. submitted by /u/2JZ-CJG [link] [comments] Read More

Fuck Gemini exchange

There's some stinky shit going on. Every time there's a dip, btc is trading for $100 more than average and eth is $10 more than average. No choice, so have to buy. Then when the dip is over and it's time to sell, it's back to the average price, which obviously eats into your profits. I don't know what the fuck is going on, and there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation... but this is a systematic and reoccurring problem that seems exclusive to Gemini. Fuck Gemini. submitted by /u/lelease [link] [comments] Read More

Why does coin base show a different price than Coin market cap?

Its 9:20 EST and currently coinbase (where I have been buying and holding my ltc) is currently showing BTC at 4424.22 while Coinmarketcap.com show it at 4157.95 and LTC @ 69.11 while CMC shows it @ 63.01. THIS IS NOT A MARGINAL DIFFERENCE! I know CB's buy price is sometimes slightly higher than other sites show but this is a pretty damn big difference. if coinbase isn't showing the most accurate or up-to-date price than it isn't reliable as a broker and I plan to leave it immediately. Does anyone have an explanation as to why there would be such a big difference? am I missing something or is coinbase just crap? submitted by /u/Panic-King [link] [comments] Read More

So... the point of going to the moon is to cash out in fiat ?

I really don't get it. I first bought bitcoins in 2011 and I spent them, and yes, you can call me stupid because now, they would have worth way more. But I thought the point of bitcoin was to escape from fiat, banks, central banks and all this state corruption. But everyday, on every subs, on every twitter, someone wish his bitcoin were going to the moon. So what's the point, what's the goal ? Are we all going to cash out one day to enjoy our euros, dollars or yens ? I may be very stupid but I thought that we were building some kind of new world where, one day, fiat would not worth anything because we could buy eveything we want with our cryptos. But I'm probably too stupid. The proof is that - disclaimer - I don't have my driving license, I dont' want it and I don't want Lambo too. Portfolio Advice

Hi all, first post here from a long-time lurker. Im looking to get feedback on my current holdings and see if there is anything that im missing. LSK - 25% IOTA - 15% NEO - 15% OMG - 10% FCT - 10% GNT - 5% ARK - 5% MAID - 5% BAT - 5% PAY - 5% The aim of this spread is to try and outperform the growth of BTC by investing in long term projects in which I believe in. BTC and ETH prices have always been intimidating but is it worth adding these in? (Yes, I know its about % growth not $ price). Understanding price movement and "Getting run over"

I'm looking to understand how price movement happens in an exchange -- specifically how an order may be placed near the LAST price and then it "gets run over". From my basic understanding, if the price is 100 and you place your BUY at 101, it has to eat up 101 before it goes up further, right? Sometimes its so close to the current price that it moves right over the 101 BUY Order and goes up to 102 without eating up 101..? Is there a good explanation to the mechanics of how this happens? And how (using the same example), if I put my BUY in at 102 or 103 then it SURELY gets eaten up.. submitted by /u/Fantasticko [link] [comments] Read More

Aventus + other "Tickets Toddlers"

Aventus.io, Eventchain.io, Blocktix.io and similar such "ticket saviours" and tout-killers all suffer from the same disease. They are rank amateurs representing themselves as capable of penetrating the highly-closed, effectively oligopolized and vertically-integrated live events business. Aventus, who, with its over-engineered website and inscrutable "White Paper" (which reads more like a doctoral thesis in cryptoasset theory than a practical solution for disrupting ticketing) comports itself poorly to anyone who understands the true political nuances of the live events industry like this writer. The recently-minted academics (perhaps love-birds from their "Series Eight" days) - who represent that they can lead the entity - have a collective zero in concert or sports event production. The critical "experts" they conscripted as advisors for their Rube Goldberg approach to live event economics consists principally of (a) Diane Bowers a person

NYC based ICO - RECRUITING Dev Team ASAP - Seek: programmers, ICO-experience, VC's

Goal? To potentially have a stake and likely financial gains from the 25-30% of the cryptocurrency market OVERALL as China backs out. It is doable, and scalable, but needs rapid moves. Please apply quickly, recruiting immediately. So big changes are going on there, we won't know for sure until the wording on the legislature is more formal and finalized. But if they start to be blocked, they will lose out on opportunities and require our help if they wish to circumvent restrictions and still invest, build business, move funds, etc. This leads me to a number of lucrative and brilliant ideas for businesses and ironically, more ICOs. I have a few ideas how we can allow the Chinese to invest and continue to grow/prosper and include us in the mix. We can shift operations away from regulatory eyes and everyone wins. I need people with experience in ICO launch and coding/development. Pending wording of these Chinese regulations I have one idea that needs ASAP ASAP attention! ***** Th

Kraken Confusion re: Max Fiat withdrawal for U.S. Citizen

I recently applied for Tier 4 Verification on Kraken. I received the following response from Kraken Support: Begin Support Ticket Excerpt: Felix (Kraken Support) Aug 30, 13:50 PDT Hi Stephen, Before we start the Tier 4 Individual application, there is something I need to point out. Due to regulations, any Individual account in the US may only have a maximum annual withdrawal cap of $100,000, and that's only if a proof of source of funds is provided. This is well under the amount you have specified you plan to perform. For this reason, I strongly suggest that, if this is an option available to you, you should consider applying for a Corporate account. These accounts have substantially higher annual deposit and withdrawal limits. End Support Ticket Excerpt So I opened a Corporate Account. This type of account supposedly allows for Unincorporated Businesses (aka Schedule C's). When I told support that this type of business entity does not have Articles of Incorporation, I

Bankera ICO (SpectroCoin)

Hi every1, I followed this new coin called bankera since I sawthis thread on the internet last week, on the XRPchat forum. ( http://ift.tt/2x5jIDC ) The pre-ICO (10%) seems like a huge success (within 6 days 80% got sold already for 0.01€). I purchased a little (€20) but now I'm wondering if I should buy a bit more. Are there any people on here who also invested in it? Or maybe someone who knows more about it? It seems pretty reliable (the guy on the forum explains a bit, there's some link to the whitepaper etc as well) but I don't know much about crypto this is the only crypto I bought because it was very cheap. The rest of the ICO will get sold for 0.017 instea of 0.01, this should instantly increase the worth to like 0.015-0.016 right??? Theory of TenX and other debit "CryptoCards"

I'm going to start with economic theory. Then try to predict the future of cryptocurrency and cryptocards. We are all here because we want cryptocurrency to become the reserve currency of the world. All of us are invested in various coins, whether it is bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, etc. But what determines the price of any cryptocurrency? What determines the market valuation of my coin? Well my argument is that what should determine the market value of a coin is in its: 1) usefuless, and 2) the probability that the coin will continue to exist in the future. In my argument, Bitcoin, for example, has 2.5 times the market cap of ethereum, so it has 2.5 times more likelihood to endure into the future, whether as a currency, a store of wealth, or usefulness to the general population. And arguably so, because I believe the vast majority of ICOs based on ethereum will end up being useless. So now we come to this new class of cryptocurrencies, that I call CryptoCards, such as TenX,
