What’s gonna be up in the morning

Yo so clearly this is some wild shit. I’ve kept all my iota and vertcoin and I’m not touching thay. But the question is what to do with my ‘free trade’ coin that I️ just threw into bitcoin a few minutes ago. I️ wanted to see f anyone had any thoughts about what is going to be up big in the morning? I’m on the west coast of the us so I’m going to go to sleep soon so I️ need to get something that should be good overnight and might be a nice surprise in the morning. I’m thinking either ethereum or bitcoin might be good, just because of the massive price changes and people tend to see those coins as the most stable. What do you think? submitted by /u/mellifluousmind [link] [comments] Read More

Don't use Changelly.com. Lesson learned.

Earlier today, after studying on the current bitcoin cash jump when I noticed it might be a thing, I decided to flip a big chunk of my eth holdings over to BCH to ride this wave, which I guessed was going to be sizeable. As always, cursing myself for not having seen this earlier, but confident there was some motion left this early. I popped over to Changelly.com -- where I've done several small quick coin swaps before -- and noticed the site was a little sluggish and there was a single sentence above the trade bar that said they were experiencing delays. My transactions have always gone through in 15 minutes or less in the past, so I figured if they were having a rough time it might be an hour or even at worst two, so it should be fine. Probably just that good ole blockchain IPO/bull slowness. If it was taking half a day or something they'd probably stop taking orders, or put a rough estimate of the slowness, or just go down. I set up the swap, dropped the coins on my end to

BTC/BCH nothing makes sense!

I had no BCH, so I sold half my BTC and bought BCH with it, and I like it. Now I see BCH mooning, yet BTC isn't losing mkt cap and noether are the Alts. So what in the world is going on with BCH out of S. Korea? Conspiracy, power struggle, games, to control BTC, and kill it and make BCH the new Bitcoin? 12 hrs before BTG officially launches? I feel like I should get out of BTC, but I don't want to put more into BCH as it could crash hard, or it's stopped mooning right when I buy. I think I'll use all remaining BTC and buy into the top 5 alts and get myself out of the BTC mess and see what happens over time, but enjoy watching the value of what BCH I have go up. Thought,s FUD, FOMO, and other odd feelings to share about this post SX2 insanity? submitted by /u/Data_Geek [link] [comments] Read More

Why do we need to sign up to different exchanges? Are there certain advantages?

Newbie here, I’ve been reading for awhile now about cryptocurrency and trading. And I just have some clarification really, aside from buying coins that are only available to specific exchanges. Why do we need to sign up to other exchanges? Are there any advantages on signing up to different exchanges? submitted by /u/erroltiozon [link] [comments] Read More

What are the most active markets for erc20 tokens?

So, almost just for giggles, a while ago, I invested a relatively small amount in a bunch of ICOs. I didn't even did much proper research on most of them. Just dipping my toe in unknown waters and see what happens. Most of them are on the green, a couple are on the red and a bunch of them took a good shit, LOL. I think I am fine for now and don't have the energy for following these projects, I want to trade my erc20 tokens back to etherem. I heard about these contracts that implement an erc20 exchange. Some of them even work across chains, from what I gather. What are the most active ones? Or, are there exchanges that trade any erc20 token? Which ones? I really just want to dump a few of the tokens at the best available offer, and in other cases just place an order a bit above spot price leave it there. submitted by /u/observerc [link] [comments] Read More

Which exchange is the best for trading?

I've been using Kraken for a while not and while I really like their support, wire banking support and API, it's laggy as fuck and they removed advanced orders. Sane UI for exchanges and wallet not showing zero balances when data is no avail?

I swear I nearly had a stroke several times, on at least both Bittrex and Poloniex (but certainly on many others too), but also on the Ledger Nano S's Chrome app while, unknowingly, online. When data is not avail, could you please not show "Balance: 0 BTC" but instead show something sane like "Balance: n/a" or "Balance: - BTC" ? Or even a little spinning wheel. Anything really. But just don't show "0 BTC" or "0 BCH" or whatever when you don't have the data yet / no network or, worse, old, bogus, cached balance coming from some local cache (Ledger does that). Because displaying "0 BTC" when it's not correct has to be one of the f-cking worse UI / UX ever. Seriously devs: please get hit by the clue stick. submitted by /u/ceinguy [link] [comments] Read More

How can see what my portfolio is worth on my local exchange?

Hi, I use the blockfolio app on android to track what my portfolio total value is in terms of bitcoin, but the app does not support my local exchange, Luno, I end up having to multiply my portfolio value by my exchanges exchange rate which takes quite long. I think this has to do with using Lunos API or something? submitted by /u/CallumVH [link] [comments] Read More

Country to use as non-resident

Hi everyone, I have been trading for a while now, but I'm still not sure about the following, so I'll ask you guys. I am a Dutch national living in the US on a student visa (so non-resident). I pay income taxes on my stipend in the US. When I register on exchanges, should I select the US or the Netherlands as my country? They also ask for your address, which makes me think I have to select US, since I have no official address in the Netherlands anymore. Hope anyone can help, thanks! submitted by /u/grebaptiste [link] [comments] Read More

Airforce AIRTOKEN. Possibly a big buying opportunity?

Does anyone have any opinions on AIRTOKEN? I've looked into them over the past few days after seeing them so far below ico (about x4 i believe). From what I can tell they have a competent team, a solid road map and idea, and are actively communicating and working on their project. They have pivoted from their Boston based company AIRFOX that generated over 600,000 dollars of revenue last year. Airfox plans to give economic incentives to users for viewing advertisements, which it hopes will enable them to access and afford mobile internet. AirFox is backed by TechStars, Project 11, NXT Ventures, LaunchCapital, RightSide Capital and other big investors in Boston. The biggest issue's with the project seems to be from lack of exchanges, which they have adressed and are actively working on, the timing of their ico and release, and the legal ramifications they will have to bypass. Might go heavy into this soon, so hard to pull the trigger after seeing the price and volume so low. Wh

Portfolio Composition

Several days ago I was 90% BTC, and 5%ETH, 5%RIP. Realizing I’m way to heavy in BTC, and with BCH mooning, I needed to rebalance my portfolio. Now I’m 45%BTC, 44%BCH, and 11% mixed with ETH, XRP, LTC&NEO. Not a perfect triangle pie yet. What is a good strategy for longer HODL with trying to get a Cryptocurrency portfolio that’s fairly well balanced, with fewer big adjustments like convert half my BTC to BCH? By EOY I plan to add XEM, DASH, & XMR to my Other Alt category. I want to add in more hi-cap Alts. Is this a good idea? Should I have a 4th category of say 5-10% of promising penny Crypto like: LSK, ZEC, ARK & Waves? Should I take out another 25% of my current BTC and buy up those pennies cryptos now? Looking to have an interesting discussion in strategy for a nice rounded portfolio for going long, fewer big shifts, if some hi-cap cryptos go down the other Alts I’m holding up up type arrangement, and in general I DCA money into the portfolio and add into all crypto

ETH is about to become the safe haven store of value.

Proof of Stake (enhanced security + interest earning) ~0.5% inflation (less than half BTC it's forks) to kick in Actual intrinsic utility value in being required for every singly ecosystem function (tx, ERC20s, computation, contracts etc.) This doesn't even get into the privacy features & scaling capacity set to hit millions of tx per second via Raiden later this month. submitted by /u/onenessup [link] [comments] Read More

HitBTC.com Biggest Scam Exchange Ever?

So I bought some B2X futures on HitBTC.com a few hours after the news of the fork not going through. This was my first time on HitBTC and i was messing with the transfers from ‘main account’ to ‘trading account’ and vice versa. So after I traded some bitcoin for B2X I transferred my B2X from my ‘trading account’ to my ‘main account’ One day later I had a nice 150% profit on them because of the news that some miners were still going to fork. I wanted to sell my B2X future but hitBTC.com wouldn’t let me transfer my B2X from my ‘main account’ to my ‘trading account’. It said: ‘currency operations not available’. I made a support ticket and ‘Emiliana Bracco’ responded to me. He/She told me it was due to ‘technical maintenance’ and ‘soon everything will get back online’. I’ve been waiting for more than 48 hours till I can access my B2X so I can sell that junk with the profit I have left. They even stated in their blog that if the fork won’t happen this year B2X would be doomed worthles

In light of the BCH surge, what are the drawbacks to a larger block size?

So setting aside your own personal opinion on whether the recent BCH surge is a "pump and dump" or the crypto community finally accepting what bitcoin was meant to be all along, what are the drawbacks to larger block sizes which is the central feature of BCH? The pros are easy enough- faster transactions and lower transaction fees (i currently have a BTC transaction that's been in limbo for the last 24 hours for absentmindedly using a "normal" fee.) What are the cons of BCHs large blocks? Is it only because it's easier to centralize because the block size is so much larger? Centralization is a legitimate concern in cryptocurrency but is there anything else to consider with 8mb blocks? submitted by /u/Cananopie [link] [comments] Read More
