Hoping someone can clarify one of the calculations on the Polo trade analysis page ( http://ift.tt/2eOadxu ). If you select just Buy or Sell orders the page calculates a "Total with Fees" value instead of overall Profit/Loss. For buy orders this value is what I'd expect (the total BTC spent in the selected orders), but for sell orders the value doesn't include the fees paid, giving a higher total than reality). on exchanges such as bittrex, a lot of the alt coins only have a bitcoin market. how can you go about trading as normal when your trying to make bitcoin even though the bitcoin value is changing all the time, would this not interfere? for example, there was a dip in komodo, which on bittrex only has a bitcoin market. so i placed a sell order for when it gets higher in value. but if bitcoin were to drop in value, wouldnt the sell order go through? i dont see how bitcoin can be the main thing, i thought the idea was for people to buy and sell around usd for example. can anyone explain this to me better. thanks submitted by /u/DANtheMAN618 [link] [comments] Read More

As we all know, we can't predict the market, and from my understanding the (second) best time to get into crypto is now. With that said, I've finally moved my finances around to buy a few cryptos for a 5-10 year hold. But I ended up buying all of them right before this weeks dip and I'm already down. My current holdings: 70% ETH, 20% OMG, 5% IOTA, 5%ARK also looking to dollar cost average every month into all of these plus adding LTC and possibly XMR and VTC. LTC has a total max supply of 84M BTC has a total Max supply of 21M When looking at supply and demand, and assuming LTC has the same demand as BTC, that would either put LTC at a $430 price, or BTC at a $288 price (assuming demand is the same). As we know, the demand is not the same for LTC as it is for BTC. But at current price, LTC has only 6.7% of the demand that BTC has. I find this number to be low or BTC to be overvalued in comparison of LTC. Based on non-scientific data and just my guessing, I would assume LTC has at least a 15% demand of BTC. So far I have not found a cryptocurrency exchange that has a wide variety of coins, good volume and allows Canadians to deposit and withdraw in CDN. As for me, I just use Coinbase to deposit and buy either Bitcoin or Ethereum, which I then transfer to Bittrex or Poloniex. Essentially I trade altcoin/BTC in hopes that BTC stays safe forever. In terms of withdrawing, I have only found localbitcoin.com to be a plausible option. But the constant trading between exchanges eat away from profit in fees. I've been trading cryptos for two month now and I've been facing the following situation over and over: if I set a stop loss order (fixed or trailing) no matter what distance, the price will almost always go down just to that stop loss trigger and then go up again. It's like a curse. Is it just incredible bad luck or is it the pro traders and big players fucking me over with their special software and skills?
