Legal Guides and Resources...

I've been doing fairly well with my trading, for what little I've done, but as my gains are getting to the point where they are significant enough to report on taxes I'm beginning to wonder how best to get guidance on how to stay compliant. For example, I am gaining interest in ICO's but I notice US citizens are barred from many of them, and I'm certainly no accredited investor... (edit: And I'm certainly not holding onto anything for a year!) I really want to do this while simultaneously staying within regulation, as my primary interest is gaining marketable experience trading... but the money is fairly good as well. Should I go to a website, an accountant, or a tax filer for additional help? submitted by /u/oopoctothorpe [link] [comments] Read More

Sell me/Steer me away from APX

Hey all, Stumbled on APX Ubiq token. It seems to be a promising token... It has a limited amount of tokens and appear to have a decent plan on their site with known advisors. However, I'm still unsure if whether or not I should buy some. Seems very promising, just maybe, I'm missing something? I'll probably end up buying but maybe someone here knows something I don't. Below is their site https://apxv.org submitted by /u/Nutellarrhea [link] [comments] Read More

Would anyone sell me any cryptocurrency for Paypal?

I don't have an ID so I can't use any of the exchanges and my debit card has a protection on it that won't allow any Crypto exchange to charge it. So my only option is Paypal. I have a verified UK Paypal account and proof of my identity and I'm willing to pay first. I only want small exchanges (£30/day) or so. I normally use WeSellCrypto but they're out of stock lately. If anyone is willing to trade with me (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or any other major coin) for Paypal then PM me. submitted by /u/whatsupnigga [link] [comments] Read More

I want to withdraw my initial investment. Convert to LTC or ETH?

I want to pull out my initial cash investment and just use my returns and see if I can snowball those. My question is which currency has the least fees associated with it? Right now I'm holding DGB, LTC, GNT, BTC, and ETH. My thought it so shapeshift it all into one currency and send it to Coinbase for withdrawal and then re-shapeshift the extra back to those currencies. Is this the most effective way or is there a better way? submitted by /u/Keeting [link] [comments] Read More

Breaking!!! Cryptocurrency Exchange Poloniex Shuts Down Legendary Trollbox down "indefinitely"!!! http://ift.tt/2n3vqJt

They're blaming it on support, however, they've been slowly taking away the ability to communicate employing shadowbanning as well as normal banning. The Truth is and I got this from a polo mod... they're eventually going to become totally legit and FINRA doesn't like the trollboxes, so they will eventually all be gone as options and commodities exchanges begin to regulate cryptocurrency spot markets just like what happened to Forex Spot markets. "To meet the increasing demands on support staff, the Trollbox has been disabled indefinitely and moderators have been reallocated to assist in support." http://ift.tt/2n3vqJt will give a voice to Poloniex Trolls once again as we go live. Please visit the website and send the staff your email if your interested in getting into the testnet. submitted by /u/frmthehills [link] [comments] Read More

Trying to buy ether in Canada.

Hey Guys, having some issues buying ether. Fairly new to cryptocurrencies, been trying to register on Kraken for an institutional account, but their support is a joke. 3+ weeks to get a response from support. Registered at GDAX but not sure how long they'll take either. Coinbase has stupid limits. Any suggestions? I'm in Canada so I'm a bit limited. Best exchange/fast registration process. Just to reiterate, I'm looking to trade from a corporate account. submitted by /u/D34dlines [link] [comments] Read More

[Discussions] Algorithmic Trading Development

Hey guys, I'm currently developing a private algorithmic trading program, using a combination of Python and PHP. I simply wanted to ask if anyone has ran into issues with the terms of services (ToS) of some exchanges. In particular, I'd like to use the Kraken platform and its api, but its ToS states that signers will not Use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper or other automated means or >interface not provided by us to access our Services or to extract data. Should I be concerned about this condition, or would it be okay to ignore it? In the case of the former, has anyone seen an exchange that allows algorithmic trading? Thanks! submitted by /u/New_Age_Dryer [link] [comments] Read More

Bancor Network ICO – Controversial One Hour Uncapped

Anybody else having trouble withdrawing funds from Poloniex?

I've been hearing rumors of people having issues withdrawing their funds from Poloniex so I decided to get out while I could. I initiated a withdrawal of FCT at Poloniex to a FCT wallet at Bittrex and a short time later, my withdrawal history listed the withdrawal as "complete" with the correct Bittrex address and even listed a txid. However, when searching the Factom blockchain explorer, I get a 404 error on the txid and Bittrex shows no pending deposits. I've opened a ticket on their separate support site that requires a separate user account and of course I haven't heard back from them. Are any of you experiencing similar issues? If so, what recourse do we have (other than finding their physical location)? What say you /u/Poloniex ? submitted by /u/freebass [link] [comments] Read More

What if someone made a crypto for Clash of Clans or Pokemon Go?

I've been wondering about this for some time and I thought I'd throw the idea out there to you guys. What if the gems in Clash or the gold coins in POGO were actually based on a cryptocurrency that could be traded on exchanges and in-game? Any thoughts about how that might play out? submitted by /u/jcreasy9256 [link] [comments] Read More

The road to one trillion

Now that the $100 billion market cap has been crossed, it's very clear (for those that weren't already paying attention anyway) that this crypto thing is a legitimate industry that is hear to stay. It is its own economy, and I believe the pace of growth is not going to slow down and we will cross the 1 trillion mark within two years, and 5+ trillion within 5 years. I think one big change that we'll see start taking place to fuel this growth, is that far fewer people are going to cash out profits back to fiat. There is now an entire economy in the crypto world that they can spread profits into, so why cash out back into fiat and go back to measly gains. Those who do cash out large amounts will likely end up in regret, and re-entering the market at a higher point. Money will become increasingly committed to the wholly digital economy where it will stay for the long haul, and if things go well enough, may never even need to be converted to fiat. submitted by /u/barefoo

Recent coordinated BTC/ETH sharp sells?

Anyone noticed the recent pattern of coordinated sharp sell-offs on BTC and ETH? In the course of about 3 minutes, ETH will dive a few $ and simultaneously BTC will dive about $50. Selloffs aren't anything special, but these coordinated sharp sells are odd. Recovery has been fairly swift and getting faster, but I'm really curious about this new behavior. submitted by /u/antlerhandler [link] [comments] Read More

Hodl & short trading

I am a hodler of ETH, BTC, LTC and XRP, as I strongly believe they will surge in the longrun. However, since markets are now booming, I'm also looking to preserve a little bit of cash (1000€) for daily trading on various currencies that are going strong during the day. Not looking for any Lambos, but 3-5% a day profit would serve a nice meal at the end of the month already. What would be the best strategy for my short play?
