Why do crypto wallets looks so similar?

Just downloaded the RDD wallet and noticed the UI is almost identical to the DigiByte wallet. Why is that? I have also noticed that other wallets like Ripple and Stellar Lumens interfaces are pretty much the exact same except for some color differences. submitted by /u/smallwienerman [link] [comments] Read More

Siacoin (SIA): unique technology and seems like it could be very disruptive on paper. Opinions?

Here's the website: http://sia.tech/ Been reading up on this coin a bit recently and I'm really liking the vision that the developers have. Their goal is to have Sia act as a decentralized cloud storage network. If the bull case scenario comes to fruition, then I see this catching the eye of existing cloud enterprises such as Dropbox, Amazon Drive, and CRM within a few years. There's obviously still a long way to go but it looks like the dev team has its act together: bunch of ambitious Harvard and MIT grads. The coin dipped considerably from highs because people were unable to withdraw it from Polo. I believe the issue has since been resolved and, looking at its chart, upward momentum has begun to resume. From a short-term perspective it looks as if its at the tail-end of a consolidation period, which I see as a good opportunity to buy in. While the idea is sound and -- in my mind -- worthy of a small, long-term investment, I'm wondering if anyone has any input reg

Buying smaller coins

Hey, all! I am new to the scene and have been doing research for the past week and I'm feeling ready to buy! The only problem is that I cannot figure out how to go about purchasing smaller coins such as ICN or XVG. So far I have figured that for ICN it is required for me to purchase BTC using cash and then putting it in a wallet and then importing that BTC into Kraken and exchanging for ICN? Is that really the only way or is there a simpler way? It just seems like there would be a huge number of fees just to purchase ICN and the same for XVG. Any help or guidance is extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/juuj123 [link] [comments] Read More

To all our new subscribers: You are witnessing a very special time right now.

The layout of a cryptocurrency has the ability (in theory) to replace a whole banking infrastructure with a single blockchain. This would be exponentially cheaper, more efficient and more reliable. The blockchain could, in a degree, do the same thing for a number of other sectors. Blockchain tech is as disruptive technology as the internet was 10 years ago. People start to notice that and start to buy in. You are witnessing a very special time right now. submitted by /u/boppie [link] [comments] Read More

Ether Price Analysis The Bubble Will Pop But Not Just Yet

Over the past 30 days, ether has risen a staggering 350 and, at this point in time, it could literally go to a million. There is no top, anyone telling you otherwise is a fool. The reversal will be swift, violent and highly publicized, but until then, I see no reason why the bubble cannot continue for the next few weeks at least.I have no doubt in my mind that Ethereums market cap will surpass Bitcoin for a period of time, at least until SegWit and Lightning Network are active. Much like Bitc

A pattern I have noticed

I have quite a mix of coins in my portfolio. Previously I noticed a pattern that when Bitcoin was on a run, alts would drop, when Bitcoin was stable or dropping then alts were up. This has now flipped to Ethereum. With Bitcoin I have noticed that now when it drops, alts drop and when Bitcoin goes up, alts go up. This is when Ethereum is stable. No idea why. submitted by /u/mccormack555 [link] [comments] Read More

Bancor Network ICO – More Bancor Controversy

As we had mentioned in a previous post there was a lot of concerns related to the Bancor ICO as they started with a one hour uncapped round and the Bancor Controversy was born. Many were concerned about the motivation of this structure. The Company explained to the community that the reason that they were doing the ICO this way so that all can contribute and we wouldn’t see something like the Brave ICO where it closed out in 30 seconds with whales taking the vast majority of the token immediately. The one-hour open period would stop that from happening. There were many predictions as to how much Bancor would raise under this structure with participants in the forums saying over 100 million dollars. Although this was possible, was it really achievable? Well, they were not far off, as the ICO raised over $150,000,000. As the sheer volume of transactions affected the whole network and there were many errors, Bancor extended to a three hour uncapped time period. Bancor made this stateme

Is Stratis truely a better investment than Ethereum at the moment ?

I know about how Stratis is allegedly easier to work with because it uses C# rather than a new ecosystem like Solidity as Ethereum does but that argument doesn't hold much weight to me. Unlike C#, Solidity has been developed from the ground up to work with the Blockchain and Smart contracts. Programming languages are just like tools. For instance, if I knew how to use a pair of scissors but not a knife, I would be inclined to try to eat steak by using scissors just because I don't want to learn how to use a knife. But in reality I would make my life a lot easier if I just took the time to learn how a knife works and then used it to eat steak. It would be so much more comfortable !
