Low-Cost Coins that are good at replacing Currencies?

I've seen many coins go up that are strictly focused on being good at trading. Coins that have beneficial features as currencies tend to do the best out of what I've seen, so I'm looking for similar coins that are useful for trading. I'm not looking for coins that track bullets, allow voting, make health care cheaper, make me coffee, etc... I just want coins that are good at being used as currencies, nothing else. Many of the top coins do one or more of these things really well including trading quickly, private transactions, built-in contracts, and having a finite supply. There may be more things I've forgotten to list, but if you know of any low-cost coins that have any of these traits, please post about them below. submitted by /u/101ByDesign [link] [comments] Read More

US Taxes on exchanging different cryptos?

Do you have to pay taxes if you exchange one cryptocurrency for another? Let's say I use crypto X to buy crypto Y directly on an exchange. Do I have to convert the amount of X I used into fiat for my records and realize any gain/loss on crypto X which would be taxed as capital gains? Would this be the case if you were to use a mainstream crypto like btc/eth/ltc to buy less mainstream cryptos each and every time? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Its_Green [link] [comments] Read More

What are some of the most promising ultra-low market cap coins?

This was submitted 2 months ago by ThinkingPharm: "While they're risky bets, it seems like coins with ultra low-caps offer some of the best potential for exponential ROIs. What are some of the most promising coins out there that currently have low caps (with active dev teams, concise roadmaps, etc.) and are likely to amass much bigger marketcaps over time?" The coins that came from that post grew enormously since then. I'm hoping to create the same thing again with this post. submitted by /u/101ByDesign [link] [comments] Read More

Alt coins have been RIGGED for 2 weeks by a rogue exchange.

Our alt-coins are being rigged by a dodgy exchange to drop at the exact second (literally, the exact second) and follow BTC down every time it drops. It’s not a speculative drop, because this is happening in microscopic timeframes. Now that BTC only has a 53% market share, this feels to me like an exchange based collusion method. Where the alts used to be an alternative to BTC, and have an inverse relationship (grow when BTC shrinks) - now it’s entirely the opposite. The alts are rigged to drop each second BTC drops. So this will STOP anyone moving from BTC to an alt, because now they’re all rigged to drop at the same microsecond. It’s too quick, too electronic and too dodgy to be a natural market thing. We’re talking ETH based coins as well, not correlated with BTC. There's a tiny handful of coins not rigged at the moment, and people are pouring money into them (MIOTA etc) - I feel this is all intentional. All graphs are exactly the same, any coin, any alt. They are cut &

Need a good Crypto exchange without bots.

Just spent about 1 hour and a half trying to sell less than 0.034 DASH due to bots constantly outbidding me. Anyone have any suggestions for a good exchange that doesn't have these same problems? Weird shit happening on Binance. Need clever people to explain.

Exhibit A: http://ift.tt/2ntrhzV I've been trying to sell 0.034 DASH for about 45 minutes now. Since then there has been about 10 sell orders filled per minute 0.0001 DASH below my sell order. During this time I moved my sell order lower 3 times and each time the sell orders would start coming in 0.0001 DASH below mine and getting filled in a few seconds. You can see on the right that most of the filled orders are substantially larger than mine. Also interesting is how the chart shows a complete flat-line in price action since I put the order in. Is it some sort of algorithm that's doing this? Are these superpowers? If so, how should I wield them? Thanks submitted by /u/Sisquitch [link] [comments] Read More

Can you make around $15 daily trading cryptocurrencies?

It seems quite easy to be honest(I'm planning to start trading in a few weeks so I don't have any experience, correct me if I'm wrong) just invest $100 in one coin and wait for a 15% gain and sell. Can someone confirm? With this amount of money I could sustain my family(in my country). submitted by /u/xLionel775 [link] [comments] Read More

Preparing for the Worst

Not a collapse, regulations. Venezuela is launching their own crypto mainly to sidestep US sanctions. I am certain I am simplifying the country's motivation. However, what do you think the chances are western government's ban Cryptos? Will they only ban specific ones or will it be a blanket ban? What are you doing to prepare for this outside chance? Is this a non issue? I do think government's will continue to move in regulating this industry to a point where it becomes a burden to own cryptos over their fiat bullshit. Am I being crazy? In a what if scenario where a blanket ban is put in place what do you think the outcomes will be? What are some of the ways to avoid having to sell your Cryptos? VPN? Cold storage? Thanks in advance for your insights. submitted by /u/ThanatosCharon [link] [comments] Read More

Are you a trader?

Been trading and riding the waves this weekend, and I really want to know: How many of you are actual traders, in this I mean: have you actually quit your job to trade in crypto? I mean, this is a bullmarket, and it's almost impossible to lose money. I'm actually considering taking a 6 month leave from my job, just to daytrade. I made some serious bank this weekend, and I can't help but notice one simple fact: Every day I go into work, I lose money. I remember talking to a poker pro at some point in my life. He said something that latched itself onto my mind like fucking glue: Man, you don't just quit your job. I didn't start playing poker professionally after making abit of money. It was a gradual thing. I was hashing it out in my day-to-day job, getting back home, doing my usual things, then I went to play poker half the night. I started making some money, and before I knew it, I was making more money playing poker than I was staying at my actual job. After a fe

Withdrew from Kraken

Kraken is the worst experience I've ever had in my life. 2 weeks waiting for the wire transfer then 3 weeks of not being able to buy. Not sure if this is because I'm in Canada or just a crap exchange. They say they'll fix their website in the next week but I don't give a shit anymore, I'd lost out on potentially doubling my investment already because I've been waiting for a goddamn month. Seriously fuck Kraken, biggest headache and regrets in my life just sitting there and waiting for nothing to happen. Should've listened to previous complaints about this incompetent exchange. Transferred to Quadriga and never going back to fucking Kraken. submitted by /u/Josh98123 [link] [comments] Read More

Bitcoin less on Coinbase than GDAX?

Hi all, Not sure if I'm confusing my exchange rates (it's my first trade/buy, so excited!): I'm based in the UK so all figures are GBP/EUR. These are the figures I'm getting for one bitcoin: Coinbase - £8,461 GDAX - €9,881. If I do a GBP - EUR exchange check on Google, that gives me £8,461 = €9,588. That's a €300 difference. Have I completely misunderstood something? So if I bought 1 bitcoin on Coinbase, I would pay €9,588 + 1.5% fee = €9,731. Then I'd transfer it onto GDAX and sell it where I would get €9,881 - 0.25% fee = €9,857 So that's a profit of €126? Have I made a mistake somewhere? submitted by /u/claret_n_blue [link] [comments] Read More
