CFPB registers more and more complaints about Coinbase

A well known financial magazine in Germany has published an article about crypto currency complaints in the US. The complaints are registered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and states that the most of the complaints in 2017 are against Coinbase.

The key facts in the article are:

  • In 2017 the CFPB has received more than 250 complaints in the section "crypto currencies".

  • In 2016 there were only 6 complaints about Coinbase. In 2017 the number of complaints about Coinbase raised to 60% of all complaints the CFPB received.

  • One third of all complaints come from single persons and not companies.

  • Most complaints are that the client has no access to the money and the deposits take longer than expected.

  • Only 15% of the complaints are because of fraudulent intents.
