Shapeshift? Is rate interested?

Hello. I’m using jaxx as wallet for my crypto currencies since short time. I just have seen that I can exchange Bitcoin into other currencies directly from the app via shapeshift service.

Is it interesting to do it with shapeshift or it is better to do it via an exchange plateforme like bittrex? Fees are equivalent? rates are good too?

Sorry if it is a stupid question but I’m new in crypto.
