Has anybody tried linking accounts on Poloniex for higher withdrawal limits?

I am stuck at level 1 forever. Am curious if anybody has experience making a second account or linking their level 1 account to a friend with level 2. It seems that it might circumvent withdrawal limits to an extent. This is what polo says about linked accounts:

"When you link an account, it inherits the profile and verification level from your Primary Account. Your daily withdrawal limit will be an aggregate of all your accounts.

You can choose any of your accounts as your Primary Account, but you can designate an account as your Primary only once.

Account linking affects only profile information and withdrawal limits. Each account's balances, open orders, trade histories, settings, and credentials will be unaffected by linking."

I'm slightly afraid to try bc I don't know if there is any downside to trying, but I also really want my money out of there.
