I see that with Bitcoin, the transfer time is one of it's worst factors - has there been any talks to sort this problem out?

I see and hear about bitcoin over and over again, it's the highest value cryptocurrency!

It is the early adopter and the first mover. However, with the slow transfer speeds compared to ethereum it seems that it shouldn't be at the top spot.

I am wondering if there has been talks at consensus or such about speeding this up in some form?
