Question about mining pools

If I am mining with a pool like Minergate, and that pool mines a block, am I entitled to a piece of that block proportional to how much work I put into mining? I ask because I can see that Minergate has mined multiple confirmed blocks since I've joined the pool but I haven't received any coins.
