Anyone have personal experience with trading bots?

Asked this over at /r/CryptoCurrency but didn't get much of a response..

I've been seeing these bots pop up here and there. I can imagine how they could be useful by using algorithms to create unified sell or buy walls to shake more money out of people, but all of them require decent initial investments (gunbot costs like .1btc/560USD, traderdaddy is free but requires 500 Ruby coins/580USD, not sure if these are locked up permanently) not to mention the BTC they need to buy/sell with. It ends up needing thousands in order to start, but I've never seen anyone complain about losses on either one.

Anyone use either of these or have experience with different ones?

More importantly, has anyone ever had a loss with either one?
