What about goldcoin (gld) ?

I saw goldcoin reaching 150% price increase today on Bittrex. I see it gaining some traction in the last months (according to its market cap), I saw some spikes like todays one (probably pumping). However, does anyone have some insights on it ? Does it have some organic (non-speculative) potential ? Why is its market cap extending ? Is goldcoin viable in some way or it is just another scam ?
