What is the difference between the Marketcap of a company vs CryptoCurrency?

Pretty new to this area, so sorry for the stupid question.

I've heard people say how you can't and shouldn't compare the cap between a company's stock and a crypto, but why is this?

My friend was telling me that there is alot of unexplored space for crypto, because the total market cap for Crypto is like 60-70 Billion, where Facebook is 450 Billion.

Why is he looking at it wrong?
