Being greedy when others are fearful--let's talk hardest-hit, good-fundamentals altcoins.

Who's buying in during today's bloodbath?

What are your top-three coins on the fundamentals?

For me, it's GRC, LBC and ZEN. I'll give pros and cons of each.

Please feel free to critique my assessment and share your own favorite undervalued cryptos.

First up, Gridcoin (GRC).

Pros:

Government funds for scientific research are drying up. The scientific community at large is generally receptive towards new fundraising mechanisms. Buying into this coin is effectively buying into the concept that good scientific research is worthwhile.

Cons:

Difficult transition from BOINC to GRC. The "magnitude zero" problem. Needs much more development talent to overcome current limitations. Idealism cannot always overcome practical concerns.

Next up, Library Credits (LBRY or LBC).

Pros

One of a handful of altcoins with an actual product to back it up. You get to pay content creators directly for their content. Radical and potentially disruptive ideas across many aspects of modern computing, including URL hosting.

Cons:

Extreme volatilty over the past month. Not for the faint of heart. Front-end for LBRY is a placeholder at best right now. The protocol on its own isn't going to be enough, and good user-friendly solutions are still lacking. No open beta yet. No major recent news or rumors.

And lastly, ZenCash (ZEN), a ZCash / ZClassic fork.

Pros

Equihash is growing in popularity as an algorithm, and mining difficulty is increasing very fast among various equi coins. ZenCash is a good-faith fork of ZCash that has some added privacy mechanisms. Their core team is growing fast and seems to have a wealth of talent. Website news and updates are very frequent. Handled past adverse conditions rather well.

Cons:

Their lead developer recently quit for capricious reasons and left vulnerabilities wide open in the code. This caused Bittrex to close the wallets for ZClassic and Zencash for a while. Fortunately, these vulnerabilities were successfully patched. It's also hard to differentiate ZenCash vs. ZClassic vs. ZCash.
