Y all the unknown coin are up in value?

I have been looking at the market today and can't quite get it. All the alt coin i haven't heard of skyrocketed! The ones that i AM familiar r either somewhat stable or when down. Have been checkin the news and everything, can not find the reason.. my only suggestion is that asian japan, china (as i think i read opened their exchange) and south korea are trading now and looking into the alt coins. but this still doesn't explain why all well knowns ones have done down.
