**HELP** First Cryptocurrency Purchase Advice

Hi All, Looking at investing into Ripple, Bitshare, Factom and Maidsafe. But I'm a newbie to this and looking for advice on how to do this. I'd be looking to purchase these from a credit card. Is there one exchange I can sign up to and purchase all of these? Or would I have to buy the more known currencies and then exchange them for the ones I want on the exchange?

Do I need to open a wallet to deposit these after purchasing and then download offline to keep safe?
