In light of this post and a dozen other cases of people getting hacked on exchanges, what do you guys recommend as a best practice to ensure yourself from ever getting hacked or defrauded. I'm an active trader and I try to keep as little off of exchanges as I can but it gets tough setting up multiple wallets for various different coins. I was thinking of getting myself a Chromebook and installing linux on it (or using chrome OS potentially) as well as a fresh beater phone for 2fa security. The laptop will be strictly for crypto and nothing else which means web extensions or any other applications will not be present. The Phone would strictly be used for 2fa only and would also be stripped down of any outside applications. This might taking it a bit overboard but I'd rather be safe than sorry. So I convinced my girlfriend, who has quite a bit of money saved up, to put some money into crypto. She invested a couple thousand worth at the worst possible time (ATH sometime in June before ETH flash crash etc) and despite that, is still up a significant amount and has made more money from it than she would have made working all summer (think in the tens of thousands). She is a server (an excellent and very attractive one at that) and makes ridiculous amounts in pure cash tips every weekend. She obviously didn't even know how to buy a bitcoin without my help, but with my guidance has now made considerably more than her TFSA, GIC, RRSP, Mutual fund, and a savings account that earns her 3%. She now sees the potential for real profit and the fact that she can make a real living if she focuses on the crypto market instead of putting her money in those other accounts which are earning her close to nothing. Has anyone looked into Piecoin? The market cap is just a little over 1 Million, so it has a ton of upside potential. It's BY FAR the lowest market cap coin that has my attention at least. Their website looks really clean and I actually like the silly name of Piecoin, and the idea of making cryptocurrency "easy as pie".
