When to buy Ethereum?

Hey guys, I'm new to cryptocurrency and would appreciate a bit of advice. I have read about Ethereum and have decided it's something I could get behind for the long haul. I want to spend around $2000 on it and hold onto it but I'm unfamiliar with the market structure so I'm wondering if I should take the plunge now or wait for a correction. Do you think it will continue to go up or am I better off having patience?
