Waiting time on bittrex vs poloniex vs shapeshift

Hi everybody. I wanted to use shapeshift for some golem buying and i've been reading about some absurd waiting times ( 4-6 hours ). I don't like this at all as I'm trying to buy at a low, not whenever the system wants to fulfill my transaction. I'm new at this and I didn't use any exchange untill now. So which one is the fastest and how much time would a transaction take on average?
