EOS.io - ICO - am i stupid or what the F is going on ?

so this is very disturbing to me, and i am feeling like am a total moron because i am not understanding what the F is going on here.

can someone please confirm a few things to me

1) this ico raised so far +- at the time of writing 231188 ETH which is about $67 147 392.8 http://ift.tt/2sZCbMX

2) the article outlining some strange information which is essentially telling you you may not get anything doesn't matter to people ?
