What are better metrics than the market cap?

Right now, market cap is the most used metric to evaluate the strength of a crypto. That metric is flawed.

We never know how many coins are really in circulation or actually usable. If a significant amount of Bitcoin is lost due to inaccessible keys, calculating cap based on all available coins is flawed.

So are there metrics that account for that fact?
