How to obtain altcoins in USA?

Been looking for a place where altcoins can be bought in the US.

Bittrex seems mentioned the most, but I'm in one of its "restricted areas".

I'm not sure yet if Poloniex is restricted where I am, but have heard a lot of hate for it.

Anyone know of other options?
