Question: Is Bitcoin pulling on most crypto asset prices with its ups and downs?

I often read peoples comments in other forums (for example r/ethtrader) claiming they are hitting resistance at certain levels. But if Bitcoin is doing most of the pushing and shoving price-wise, aren't these so-called resistance levels for other crypto assets meaningless?
