bittrex stop loss question

If I buy a coin on bittrex for 3000. Set a stop loss at 2800. Yet the coin goes to 5000 and I want to sell it for profit. Do I have to kill the stop loss order to make this sale for 5000.

Is there a chance the coin tanks in between this gap in time? What are your strategies for this?
