Question about cryptomate xrp exchange.

Hey,

I'm just getting into the whole crypto market and recently purchased around 892 ripple for about £200 straight debit.

892 xrp is around 0.087 BTC according to http://ift.tt/2tCQSbS

And 0.087 BTC can be brought for £178 according to - http://ift.tt/2ubQ7nl

That's a loss of around £22. I was thinking of just buying BTC and then exchanging it for xrp as that looks cheaper, but still being an amateur at this I wanted to get other opinions on what the best way to buy xrp would be for someone from the UK.
