Problems funding Kraken account

Hi there I'm semi-noob to crypto currencies. I've set up accounts at Coinbase and Kraken. While my CB experience has been good my issue is in funding my Kraken account (US Resident) so I can purchase altcoins not currently supported by Coinbase.

I'm Tier3 verified through Kraken but funding the account has been impossible for over a week now and their support isn't responsive.

Are there any other reliable/secure exchanges than Kraken?

Do you think Coinbase will support trading of XRP ?
