Crypto, VEN and GAAP (Accounting)

So awhile back VeChain Foundation (VEN) released their financial statement and it got me thinking about two questions.

  1. Has a cryptocurrency foundation ever released a financial statement to the public before? (i.e is there precedent?)

  2. Will there ever be something like GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) for crypto?

Frankly I found it bizarre that they have committed to making a quarterly financial statement but what I found more bizarre was that I couldn't find any precedent of this. Anyone know of anything comparable?
