What should I invest in?

I'm completely new to cryptocurrency and would like to know the next big thing that I should invest about £3000 in. I'm looking for something that would give a good return within the next 2 years as I'm looking to buy a car. This is mainly because I have become very envious of a friend who invested £500 in ethereum last year and has made a lot. Many thanks.
