Hodl & short trading

I am a hodler of ETH, BTC, LTC and XRP, as I strongly believe they will surge in the longrun. However, since markets are now booming, I'm also looking to preserve a little bit of cash (1000€) for daily trading on various currencies that are going strong during the day. Not looking for any Lambos, but 3-5% a day profit would serve a nice meal at the end of the month already. What would be the best strategy for my short play? Is it worthwhile in the enormous offer of altcoins?
